2 Stars and A Wish

My goal in poutama is to be a courages learner.

That means I think deeper and I do not need someone near me in my learning when it is not a collabritave task. I have made an explain everything to show this.

Big Idea: Two stars and a wish is when we set 1 goal. Praise ourselves on two as well.

Inter school Cross-Country

Description: From when Russell Street School did there cross country. From the top 5 places. Year 5 and 6's are the people who get to do it. The year 6 girls did great. Bella came 2nd, Georgia came 28th, I came 33rd, Amy came 37th and Grace came 42nd. We all did great. Here are some photos of me doing the cross-country run.


Description: At KapaHaka we do dance, learn Maori, and sing. We have KapaHaka on Mondays after lunch. There is also a competitive KapaHaka group which is way smaller. We have practices on Mondays and Fridays at lunch. We do it because we love dance and learning Maori. Here are some photos of us doing performances..........

Big Idea:

At kapahaka I enjoy: Doing the dance and being able to be in the competitive KapaHaka group because it is entertaining and fun.

I am most proud of: I am pleased because I can get myself doing the right arm instead of the left when we are doing kamati and karanga. 

I find keeping the little kids to go the same way challenging because challenging because I am behind the and it does not look right when we are not going all the same way.

I am managing this challenge by making sure that I am going the right way because I might be going the wrong way myself.

A personal goal for me is to get every action perfect so I do not make a mistake.

Our school wide focus this term has been around showing excellence. I show this at kapahaka by not doing the wrong thing by listening to the teacher and showing people a role model.

Feedback/Feedforward: Well Done I agree that it does look better when you are going the right way what a great way to manage this goal to make the group the best it can be! Grace :)

Evaluation: I think I have answered my questions up to a high standard. Next time I could have a more detailed description so that the reader is more interested. I also think my goal is a great goal and that it is achievable. :)

Writing Activity Term 2 2015

Description: My goal is to use conjunctions and connectives in my writing. I need to get my reader hooked and enthusiastic about my story. I have got my goal because in writing our group of writers have been learning to add those into our writing. I will get better at that by reading stories at home to get good ideas from experts and to write my own stories to practice.

Big Idea:

Feedback/Feedfoward: I think you have done a great job with using Connectives and Conjunctions in your writing. You could work on building up sentences a bit more to make it more interesting. 


Evaluation: I think next time I could manage the Google doc embed code better because it is really long on my post. I think I have done great writing. I have written conjunctions and connectives as well which is my goal.

Maths Portfolio Sample

Description: This term we had to create a poster or just write our 4 questions that we had to do down in our maths book. Here are my strategies that I used to get my answers quick.

Big Idea: We were learning to use the most convenient strategy to help us get the answer real quick. We were learning about reversibility, place value, equal addition and rounding and compensating. 

Feedback/Feedfoward: I think you are going good with your maths and doing it in your maths book is the best way to do it. Next time you could do it on a device. Harriet:)

Evaluation: I think I did very well in my maths. I think my strategys are the best ones that I am good at.there are better ways to do your strategys though. I think next time I could also do it on a device to make it more exiting and interesting.

Reading Portfolio Sample

Description: I have been learning to Expand my Vocabulary. In my writing I have not been very good at adding very interesting words in my stories. I am Expanding my words so they are bigger. I know that I am getting better at it because I know that in my writing that I am doing at home I am using more difficult words. I am making it more interesting for the reader so that they are carrying on with the story and finding out what happens next. I am able to read big words so I understand them. I am also able to write good quality comments and feedback/feedfoward. I can improve on reading bigger words in my reading at home. Harder books that will challenge me.
I have done a Tic Tac Toe so that you can see one of my goals. I have made a poster. It is called said is dead. I have used words used in the same way but more interesting.

Big Idea: Create one of the Tic Tac Toes.

Feedback/Feedfoward: I think you have done really well making all these words interesting and cutting all the words that are boring and plain out. [Katelyn]

Evaluation: I think I made the poster very detailed when Charlotte gave me some feedfoward. I think my words that I thought of are very interesting. My Expanding of my Vocabulary has expanded a lot. I think I could work on actually using those words that I have put on my poster in my writing.
